AFC EAST TEAM BREAKDOWN
Team: Buffalo Bills
Offensive Strategy: Read Option/Vertical Game. By adding a quarterback to their Madden 25 team, the Bills took a giant step forward. We don’t yet know how good E.J. Manuel will be but first round rookie quarterbacks usually get the benefit of the doubt in ratings. C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson are both dangerous running backs and the wide receivers are solid.
Defensive Strategy: Get After The Quarterback. Mario Williams is an absolute beast in Madden. Combine that with Manny Lawson and his size/speed combination and you have 2 of those most feared pass rushers in the game. The rest of the defense is solid but not spectacular.
Impact Players: QB E.J. Manuel, HB C.J. Spiller, HB Fred Jackson, WR Stevie Johnson, DT Marcell Dareus, LB Manny Lawson, CB Stephon Gilmore, S Jarius Bird
Key Newcomers: QB E.J. Manuel, WR Robert Woods, WR Da’Rick Rodgers, WR Marquise Goodwin, LB Manny Lawson
Biggest Strength: Playmakers. The Bills are loaded with established playmakers on offense like C.J. Spiller and Stevie Johnson. They also added some potential playmakers on offense in their rookie QB and receivers. On defense, Mario Williams is a big time playmaker.
Biggest Weakness: Linebackers. There really isn’t any linebacker on the Bills roster that jumps out as an impact linebacker when it comes to Madden 25.
Team: Miami Dolphins
Offensive Strategy: Speed. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill his above average speed for his position. Running back Lamar Miller has impressive speed, and new wide receiver Mike Wallace is blazing fast. Utilize the speed of this team’s offense if you want to win more Madden games.
Defensive Strategy: Get after the quarterback. The Dolphins have a very strong defense in Madden 25. Cameron Wake and rookie Dion Jordan are pass rushing freaks. Opposing offenses won’t be able to key in on both of them. You should get plenty of sacks when using the Dolphins.
Impact Players: QB Ryan Tannehill, HB Lamar Miller, WR Mike Wallace, TE Dustin Keller, DE Cameron Wake, DE/OLB Dion Jordan, CB Brent Grimes
Key Newcomers: WR Mike Wallace, TE Dustin Keller, DE/OLB Dion Jordan, CB Brent Grimes, LB Dannell Ellerbe
Biggest Strength: Defense. The Dolphins have one of those low-key yet extremely effective defenses that only people who consistently play with them understand. They made a few key additions to the defense this year which will only help them in Madden 25.
Biggest Weakness: Lack of Stud QB or HB. In Madden, you need either a dominant quarterback, an elite running back or both. Try to think of a top tier Madden team that doesn’t have at least one of those things. Even historically bad teams like the Jaguars have MJD. As long as they lack a big play qb or hb, the Dolphins will continue to be a middle of the pack team.
Team: New England Patriots
Offensive Strategy: Pass, Pass, Pass. Stevan Ridley is a servicable Madden running back, but the real power of this offense comes from the arm of Tom Brady. Rob Gronkowski’s injury won’t be present in Madden 25 which makes him one of the most dangerous receiving weapons in the game. Danny Amendola will essentially replace Wes Welker in that offense.
Defensive Strategy: Coverage defense. The Patriots finally have a decent Madden secondary with Alfonzo Dennard, Aqib Talib, Adrian Wilson, and Devin McCourty in the secondary. Vince Wilfork is a stud in the middle of the field, and the linebackers are decent.
Impact Players: QB Tom Brady, HB Stevan Ridley, WR Danny Amendola, TE Rob Gronkowski, DT Vince Wilfork, LB Dont’a Hightower, LB Jared Mayo CB Aqib Talib, FS Devin McCourty
Key Newcomers: QB Tim Tebow, WR Danny Amendola, S Adrian Wilson
Biggest Strength: Vertical passing game. Tom Brady is still one of the most accurate passers in Madden 25. He can make every single pass in the game while never having to worry about an inaccurate throw.
Biggest Weakness: Defensive line. The defensive line of the Patriots isn’t all that special in terms of Madden. They are a solid group but they lack the speed needed to get after the quarterback.
Team: New York Jets
Offensive Strategy: Find a way to move the ball. The passing game shouldn’t be all that bad. Geno Smith will be mobile and have solid passing ratings. The receivers are solid in Madden 25 with Stephen Hill, Braylon Edwards, and Santonio Holmes.
Defensive Strategy: Force Turnovers. The loss of Darrelle Revis and Laron Landry will hurt significantly. Dee Millner and Antonio Cromartie form a solid cornerback duo. The rest of the Jets defense is below average so you will have to find a way to force turnovers.
Impact Players: QB Geno Smith, WR Santonio Holmes, WR Braylon Edwards, WR Stephen Hill, DE Quinton Coples, CB Josh Wilson, CB Dee Millner, CB Antonio Cromartie
Key Newcomers: QB Geno Smith, RB Chris Ivory, LB Antwan Barnes, DT Sheldon Richardson, CB Dee Millner
Biggest Strength: Secondary. While not as strong as last year, the Jets still have a solid secondary. It will be difficult to pass against them in Madden 25.
Biggest Weakness: The rest of the defense. They don;t have any true playmakers on defense outside of their cornerbacks. This deficiency will really hurt the Jets against more explosive teams
